Coronado High School is located at 1001 Coronado Center Drive, Henderson NV 89052. The school was named after the Spanish conquistador, Francisco Vasques de Coronado. Coronado High School was opened in 2000 and they enroll students in grades 9 through 12. They can be reached at 702-799-6800. Coronado is 1 of 67 High Schools in the Clark County School District.
In 2014 Coronado High School opened the AP(R) Academy offering AP(R) classes in Science, Computers, U.S. History, Chemistry and Psychology. About 27% of the student body participates in the AP(R) courses. About 40% of the student population goes on to a four year college and 30% go onto a two year community college after graduating.
Coronado High School has many extracurricular activities available to their student body including and not limited to Forensics. Varsity Quiz, Robotics, Theatre, Teenage Republicans, Young Democrats, AP Club, Spanish and French Clubs, Choir, Coronado Film Institute, Bowling team, Volleyball, Tennis team and the world traveled Cougar Pride Marching band. The Marching band has performed in the Bands of America 2006 and 2009, San Diego, Washington D.C. and London, England.
